Continuing Competence Refresher Training

The refresher course aims to provide a quick but comprehensive recap of key concepts and subjects crucial for CoTC and OCC holders. By participating in this session, you will have the opportunity to brush up on your knowledge and be better prepared for any examinations that may come your way. Once you’ve completed the refresher course, you’ll be all set to take your test at the center on the very same day, saving you time and ensuring that the information is fresh in your mind

COTC Cover

Our flexible and cost-effective solution ensures that your business can have access to Technically Competent Management expertise without the need for full-time staff. Whether you require our services for just a few hours a week or on a more regular basis, we are here to support your needs. In the event of your manager leaving the site, we offer short to medium-term stand-in cover to ensure that your operations continue smoothly. This allows you or your employees the time to undergo the required training and assessment to become technically competent managers on-site. Our team of CoTC holders are dedicated to providing practical and effective solutions to meet your business needs.

Who is QSP?

QSP was established in 2004 by Dave Quince, Steve Shirley and Steve Pearce.

The company was set up as a training centre to deliver vocational training to candidates across the UK. QSP is based in Redditch and is a Pearson Vue Testing centre for candidates to sit there Continuing Competence Certificate. QSP is able to offer a wide range of Awards from CIWM (WAMITAB) Waste Management, CIWM Level 5 Health Care waste, MRCCS and CIWM Health and Safety, QSP is also a registered City and Guilds centre offering Health & Safety Level 3,5 and 6, Professional recognition award and Assessor award Level 3&4.

CIWM(WAMITAB) Level 4 Waste Qualifications

Under the CIWM/WAMITAB scheme; Operators must demonstrate competence in the type of facility for which they have responsibility. Managers or Supervisors achieve this by obtaining an Operator Competence Certificate for the type of facility and the type of waste/recycle that the facility is permitted to receive. Under the scheme facilities are listed under Risk headings for each type of facility – the qualification is achieved by demonstrating competence in each appropriate unit.

Typically these would be:

Low Risk – 4 units ( e.g. Storage )
Medium Risk – 6 units ( e.g. Transfer & Treatment
Non-Hazardous, End of Life Vehicle, MRS, Composting, AD )
High Risk – 12 units ( e.g. Hazardous, Clinical, Landfill, Incineration )

City and Guilds Health and Safety

The qualification is ideal for those who have an autonomous role in their organisation for managing health and safety policy and practice; either as a direct report to, or as part of, the senior management team, QSP offers Levels 3,5 and 6 Health and Safety with City and Guilds. The assessment is undertaken at the candidate’s own workplace and observed by an Awarding Body approved Assessor. Upon Completion you will gain a certificate of recognition from City and Guilds, you will also have your portfolio of work to show how you have demonstrated the work level you have achieved.
